The United Nations
has said that 'ethnic killings' are being targeted by minority Rohingyas in
Myanmar's Rakhine state. The
world situation was discussed at the beginning of the 36th session of the UN
Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday afternoon. The Rohingya context of Myanmar
came up during this period. United
Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Jamiid RA al-Hussain, expressed his
concern over the human rights situation in his speech on 'More Dark and More
Dangerous'. He
said that what is going on in Myanmar is the ideal example of ethnic cleansing
('Textbook Exams' in his language). The
discussion came as local militias also participated in the military operation
against the Rohingyas.
Regarding violence in Myanmar, the High Commissioner said, "I had warned last year that the level of violation of the human rights violations of the Rohingya people was very broad or consistent attack against a population. If these cases are proved in court, it will probably be shown as an offending crime. Zayed RAd Al Hussain said, "The situation was not fully evaluated in response to Myanmar's refusal to enter the human rights investigation. However, the situation here seems to be a nationally eradicated 'Textbook Examples' (standard or exact example). "
Earlier last week, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres gave an unprecedented letter to the United Nations Security Council seeking action against Rakhine on the brutalization of Rohingya.
Asked whether the atrocities of Myanmar's 'ethnic cleansing' have come to the stage, Secretary-General Guterres answered, "We also fear the risk of such a thing. I hope this situation will not really happen. '
But the people of Myanmar have come to know that the situation in Rohingya has taken refuge in Bangladesh to save lives of the victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing. Three days ago, the United Nations Special Rapporteur (special envoy) in Myanmar had feared that more than one thousand people were killed in Rakhine. Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali said on Sunday that at least three thousand people were killed in Rakhine by citing various sources during the briefing of foreign diplomats in Dhaka on Sunday. He emphasized that genocide was going on in Myanmar's Rakhine state. Many foreign diplomats also said that what is going on in Rakhine is nothing but genocide.
Various sources say that in the name of terrorist-terrorist suppression in Myanmar since August 25, three to 10 thousand Rohingyas may have been killed in the operation and destruction of Rohingya led by security forces.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam-based European Rohingya Council said on Monday evening, "Myanmar continues to carry out massacre and arson in the face of global concern over ethnic cleansing and genocide. '
In this context, the UN Human Rights High Commissioner also said, "Rakhine is holding another round of barbarous security operations. Apparently, this year's expansion is far more than before. UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) According to the data, more than two and 70 thousand people entered Myanmar in less than three weeks. This is more than 87 times more than three times the run during the previous campaign. "Many people are stuck between Myanmar and Bangladesh," he said. Apparently on August 25, in response to the militant attack on 30 police outpost, the operation was overly and clearly violating the fundamental principles of international law. "We also got specific information-proofs and satellite images of security forces and local militias, burning of Rohingyas villages, shootings on civilians trying to escape, and extrajudicial killings," he added. '
About Bangladesh, the UN Human Rights High Commissioner said, "I encourage the government of Bangladesh to keep the border open for Rohingya refugees. I urge the international community to cooperate with Bangladesh authorities in providing better support to the refugee community. I appreciate the constructive involvement of the government (Bangladesh government) with my office. I want to continue my work with the authorities to deal with the very serious issues of human rights in the country. '
Zayed RAdd al-Hussein said, "I am shocked by the government statement that Myanmar authorities will not allow them to return to Myanmar if they do not have the citizenship proof of refugees fleeing violence and reports of land mines along the Bangladesh border. "He said since the year 1962, the Myanmar governments have taken away the rights of Rohingya and their political and civil rights. The Rakhine Consultant Commission, appointed by Aung San Suu Kyi, admitted the matter. It has been done maliciously because a large number of people do not return to Myanmar. He said the Rohingyas are burning their houses and destroying their villages-the Myanmar government should refrain from making such a demand. By completely rejecting the reality, the Myanmar government has done great harm to its position in the international arena. But till recently the government has received widespread greetings in the international arena.
High Commissioner urged the Myanmar government to stop the 'ongoing cruel military operation' against the Rohingya people. At the same time, he mentioned that Myanmar should be accountable for infringement of rights and rights of the Rohingyas. UN human rights officials in Myanmar
